Conrats, Good Luck, God Bless and wishing you a lifetime of happiness!
Jeriatric 09/05/2008 10:48AM
aebrooks,
Don't let it go to your head, especially since she's contributing more than you, but the two of you make an attractive couple.
Basser8239 09/05/2008 09:03AM
That was funny Bannock! Is your wife from WV? I can say that because I am originally from there too!

Hey aebrooks, she is even wearing a camouflage Cabela's hat. Nice!
Boppa 09/05/2008 07:55AM
Bannock, HAHAHAHA,

Thanks for the great laugh. I maybe over analyzing here but it is at times easy to spot whose wife, girlfriend or significant other may visit this site and read occasionally.

Good stuff,
Boppa
Bannock 09/05/2008 07:45AM
She sure has white teeth and clean fingernails. :)

Wish my wife's tooth was that white. :)

sloughman 09/04/2008 11:14PM
Congratulations! So when you do that in the BWCA do you need to carry her over the portage or do you have to wait for the wedding?
nakor 09/04/2008 09:21PM
Congratulations!
aebrooks 09/04/2008 03:41PM
lol bannock, it kind of does. here, how does this work for you?

i dont think JC Penny has pull down CCS tarps ;)

Bannock 09/04/2008 03:34PM
Looks like one of those J.C. Penny's pull down backgrounds. A 5X7 and 20 wallets for $9.99. :)

Just kidding. Congrats!
bumabu 09/04/2008 10:55AM
I'll just assume she didn't have to walk back to the parking lot then...........

Good job, yer a lucky dog.
silentbeard 09/04/2008 08:19AM
Congrats! On the engagement and on overcoming the stress you must have endured portaging and paddling with a wedding ring in your pocket.
Basser8239 09/04/2008 08:07AM
Congratulations!

You are a lucky man to find such a beautiful lady that enjoys being in the BWCA canoeing and camping. Good luck to both of you and I hope you have many many trips to the BWCA in the future as MR and Mrs.

She's definitely a keeper!
BTW, I think BigZig's idea is great!
bapabear 09/03/2008 05:19PM
BigZig, you are a genius at wedding planning!
tg 09/03/2008 05:03PM
congrats brooks!
BigZig 09/03/2008 02:34PM
Congratulations to both of you.

Let's see:
Bride, Groom, Best Man, Maid of Honor, Parents of Bride, Parents of Groom, clergy. Yup - you can have your wedding in the BWCA too. Even if you paid for a full outfitting trip for everyone above you'll be saving money.
Have those you would invite to a regular wedding camp on other lakes and you can spend your honeymoon paddling around to visit them.

Canoe42 09/03/2008 02:22PM
Congratulations. I did the same thing 22 years ago on the way to Quetico.
Merganser 09/03/2008 11:58AM
Congratulations.
Camp Cook 09/03/2008 09:49AM

bogwalker 09/03/2008 08:08AM
Congratulations.

The best news is each time you celebrate your engagement anniversary it will have to be in the BW. I hope you have many anniversary trips.

Congrats and good luck to you both and thanks for sharing your story with us.
Malamom 09/03/2008 07:10AM
Way to go Brooks! Congrats! Glad you found each other.

highplainsdrifter 09/02/2008 08:29PM

hmmmmm, picture says it all....... hmmmm. You in watch cap, and lady in ball cap........ so, you were cold and she?

Oh, is that a ring on the finger of your lady? Could it be that you actually popped the question and the answer was yes? Is that why you are both smiling?

So what about the details........ how, where, etc....
dogwoodgirl 09/02/2008 07:29PM
Wonderful!!! I'm happy for both of you- she's got a canoeing partner for life, it sounds like!
cowdoc 09/02/2008 07:15PM
Can she fillet fish? ;-) (congrats to both of you)
Shooz 09/02/2008 07:11PM

nolanbunch 09/02/2008 04:29PM
One thing that picture says (and, brother, it says MANY things...) is "It's getting COLD in the BWCA!" Full sweatshirts, long pants and knit cap -- is frost far off?
Hope you had fun!
aebrooks 09/02/2008 03:57PM
Picture says it all!!
